Human emotions find expression through diverse artistic mediums, and are shaped by one’s surround rxings, personal experiences and rich cultural heritage.
My primary subject of painting is Konkan, a region in the state of Maharashtra on India’s western coast that has left an indelible mark on my heart.
My artwork depicts my past impressions of the vibrant atmosphere of Konkan, including the changing seasons, serene and verdant surroundings, modest village dwellings, wide sea and serene terrain. These visuals of Konkan take me to a peaceful realm, and provide a meditative experience in addition to inspiring inner peace.
Konkan is a mesmerizing fusion of the beauty of simplicity and the seductive and entrancing beauty of nature. The warmth and innocence of the Konkan people are reflected in their customs, traditions, and culture, which are intricately interwoven with the natural world. The deep human connections here are rooted in nature, and the people preserve their humanity with genuine sincerity, echoing the simplicity and beauty of the land.
Konkan’s vibrant festivals exude enthusiasm, while its diverse local art forms profoundly influence the lives and values of its people. These visual experiences not only inspire me as an artist but also deepen my fascination with Konkan’s beauty and culture, a connection that continues to grow.
The ancestral home in Konkan holds a sense of belonging, and its heritage resonates deeply within me, with every object and element imbued with the values and traditions of my ancestors. This emotional connection and bond with the land inspires me to express myself through diverse art forms – installation, performance art, and land art – weaving my feelings into creative expressions.
My artwork revolves around the beauty of human simplicity, compassion, and harmony with nature. The creative process brings me immense joy, fueling my curiosity and allowing me to rediscover myself in new and exciting ways.
